Tours and activities in Puerto Vallarta

Question 1

How far in advance should I book a boat charter in Puerto Vallarta?

Accepted Answer

We highly recommend booking 3 to 6 months in advance for peak high seasons, holidays, and popular tropical winter weeks to secure your preferred vessel and departure slots in Puerto Vallarta. For mid-season or shoulder months, a lead time of 4 to 8 weeks offers excellent fleet selection, while last-minute bookings within 1 to 2 weeks are subject strictly to remaining availability. All bookings are legally binding upon confirmation, and vessel availability is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to charter operators' final scheduling clearances.

Question 2

What types of boats can I charter in Puerto Vallarta?

Accepted Answer

Our premium fleet features a diverse selection of vessels tailored to your group size, budget, and preferred itinerary. In Puerto Vallarta, you can reserve agile rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) and high-speed motorboats for day cruising, classic sailing yachts for authentic navigation, and expansive, stable catamarans ideal for family gatherings. For elite corporate events or bespoke luxury experiences, we offer a curated portfolio of fully crewed luxury superyachts configured to deliver a flawless onboard experience.

Question 3

Are boat charters private or shared?

Accepted Answer

We provide both options in Puerto Vallarta to match your group size, budget, and preferred style of navigation. A private boat charter grants you exclusive use of the entire vessel, allowing you to completely customize your itinerary, departure times, and onboard experience solely for your private group. Alternatively, a shared boat excursion allows you to reserve individual seats or tickets on a scheduled route, sharing the vessel with other travelers to enjoy premium coastal cruising and iconic landmarks at a more accessible, per-person price point.

Question 4

What is the best boat charter for a group celebration?

Accepted Answer

For milestone events in Puerto Vallarta like birthdays, bachelor or bachelorette parties, anniversaries, corporate events, and family celebrations, a private boat charter is the optimal choice. Exclusive hire of a spacious catamaran or motor yacht provides your group with a fully customizable itinerary, private entertainment, and flexible catering options. All bookings are strictly subject to maximum passenger capacity limits and official manifest regulations enforced by local maritime authorities.

Question 5

Can we swim during a boat charter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, swimming is a key highlight of the charter experience in Puerto Vallarta, with captains curating custom stops at pristine reefs, beaches, and bays. For your safety, all swimming is conducted strictly while the vessel is securely anchored and remains subject to real-time weather and sea conditions. Passengers engage in water activities at their own risk, and compliance with the captain's safety directives and local maritime regulations is mandatory at all times.

Question 6

Are boat charters suitable for corporate events?

Accepted Answer

Yes, private boat charters in Puerto Vallarta are an exceptional choice for corporate events, team incentives, client entertainment, networking, and product launches. Utilizing larger yachts or catamarans provides optimal space, professional onboard comfort, and a premium setting tailored for business groups. We provide large-capacity event yachts or coordinate multi-boat flotillas complete with custom catering.

Question 7

Do boat charters operate in bad weather?

Accepted Answer

Charters operate strictly at the discretion of the captain in Puerto Vallarta, who monitors wind, waves, visibility, and local marine warnings to ensure passenger safety. If official safety assessments or adverse weather conditions prevent safe navigation, the operator reserves the right to alter the route, reschedule the trip, or cancel the booking as per the cancellation and refund policy.

Question 8

Is a deposit required to book a boat charter?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a deposit is required by most operators to secure and confirm your vessel booking, with the remaining balance due prior to departure or on the charter day. Deposit amounts, payment methods, and refund & cancellation terms vary by operator and destination. All payments are strictly subject to the specific operator's refund & cancellation policies.

Question 9

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

Yes, policies vary in Puerto Vallarta, as some charters allow you to bring your own food and beverages. To prevent upholstery damage in sea breezes, please avoid staining items like red wine, loose sauces, or loose rice. Others require pre-arranged catering packages or enforce specific restrictions. Luxury vessels often maintain strict catering rules, corkage fees, or mandatory crew service requirements for external provisions. Feel free to contact us or check your listing specifications before booking.

Question 10

Are pets allowed on boat charters?

Accepted Answer

Pet policies vary strictly by vessel and operator in Puerto Vallarta, as some private charters permit small, well-behaved dogs with prior approval, while others enforce a strict no-pet rule due to marine insurance exclusions, sanitation protocols, and maritime safety constraints. You must check with us about animal rules on the boat before booking, and owners assume full financial liability for any interior fouling or damage.
