We had two families of four staying in Punta Mita over Christmas week. We wanted to do whale watching and swim with the dolphins but didn't want to do two separate tours. We saw on EV's website that we could reserve a private boat for the day for less than per person cost of a tour for 8 people, so I contacted them via email and was able to arrange a private boat for a half day to include whale watching, a swim with wild dolphins, and snorkeling at Los Arcos.
EV met us at a marina only 20 minutes from Punta Mita so we didn't need to go all the way to PV. The boat was comfortable and spacious. Our guide Cynthia was terrific as was the boat driver, Rafa. They pretty quickly found a pod of wild dolphins that we were able to jump in the water with. The visibility was terrible but the dolphins were curious and swam so close to us - within a few feet - that we were able to see them. It was a very cool experience. The snorkeling was nice although Los Arcos is crowded and again, the visibility was terrible Then we went looking for whales and soon found a mother and her calf and a third whale. We got some nice views and really enjoyed the trip.
EV told us they would provide water, juice and soda but we should bring our own food and alcoholic drinks if we wanted. But to our surprise they handed out delicious burritos on the boat. Another surprise was a hydrophone so we could actually hear the whale sounds underwater.
We were very happy with the trip, felt it was a good value, and would definitely recommend this company.

The private whale watching excursion was one of the biggest highlights of our trip to Puerto Vallarta! Michael started off with a short presentation about the whales in the bay and then took us to the boat to get started. Michael and Alonzo were great guides in the boat that probably could seat 16 but had 10 very comfortably. Right away we ran upon several male humpbacks competing for one female and they popped up in various places around the boat. One time they popped up just behind us! After they disappeared for a while we made it over to another location where there was a very active group of whales breaching over and over. It was an incredible experience! Then, on the way back in we were surprised by another whale popping up right in front of us to take a breath. The wind shot the plume right at us, so it was a running joke the rest of the trip that we'd been covered in whale snot. We thought that would be it, but then we also got to see a pod of spotted dolphins. Next time we go back to Vallarta, we'll be booking another trip with these guys!

Amazing private, bespoke private tour for my wife and I, and two young children. The captain has eyes like a hawk, and we saw dolphins, whales, manta-rays, and sea turtles in one journey. The guides were knowledgeable, and amazing at getting my young kids into the water to swim near the wild dolphins and snorkeling near the shore.

Amazing trip! We saw 27 whales and six breaches! Our guide said it was unheard of before! The guide was great as was listening to the humpback songs on the ocean floor. The lunch was good, the boat was not so great.
Swim with wild dolphins

We actually did the swim with wild dolphins and snorkelling at los arcos. Michael was great and we got really lucky and got to swim with a couple wild dolphins for a good half hour. Los arcos was beautiful and the snorkelling good. Both michael and Victor (boat captain) were great and overall it was a great day. There was a total of 8 on our excursion which was an awesome size as well.
